| What I liked best about the CTER OnLine program: |
I enjoyed the flexibility of scheduling 'class'. I didn't have to get in my car and drive to a university, sit for a few hours and soak in new information, then drive back home. I also enjoyed getting to know the other 25 students enrolled in the CTER program. |
| How I managed to fit the coursework into my hectic life: |
As a full-time teacher and mom, I found that setting aside a few hours in the evening after my daughter was in bed was the best time to complete coursework. I also enjoyed being able to read assignments posted on the class website from school. Sometimes I would complete assignments over my lunch period or after school. |
| CTER OnLine has impacted my professional career in the following ways: |
I am much more aware of the technologies available to me as a teacher. My students have been able to benefit from the knowledge I have gained as a CTER OnLine student. |
| Have you had any major life changes you'd like to share? (marriages, births, new jobs, etc.) |
My husband, four year old daughter, and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of twins in early September. |
| My most memorable experience in the CTER OnLine program: |
In order to complete many group assignments in some CTER classes, I worked with three other District 186 employees. We met at Janeen's house many Monday evenings and worked together on these assignments. Since we are all moms, this was not only a wonderful way for us to complete coursework, but a terrific outlet to discuss other issues. Greg even joined our group for a couple of sessions and seemed to at least enjoy our side bar conversations! |
