What I liked best about the CTER OnLine program: |
I was able to build relationships with colleagues from all over the state. I also enjoyed that the 'class time' could morph to my schedule, even if that meant 1 a.m.! |
|
How I managed to fit the coursework into my hectic life: |
Hee hee. Ummmmm... I can't believe I actually did this! Usually, my 'class time' ranged (on weeknights) from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., and utilized most Saturdays and Sundays. I had an incredibly understanding family who knew what this meant to me. I also had flexible instructors who realized I was juggling this and a full-time job and a family. |
|
CTER OnLine has impacted my professional career in the following ways: |
I believe that technology is the latest 'buzz.' Schools are putting so much money into their technology that they want to hire teachers whom they know will utilize it in the classroom. I have had my job title change twice during the life of this program. I got a job at Bloomington Junior High School. Grade six math, science, and reading. The principal was looking for someone with a strong math and computer technology background. I think CTER helped a lot in that respect. |
|
Have you had any major life changes you'd like to share? (marriages, births, new jobs, etc.) |
Yeah, I turned 30. |
|
My most memorable experience in the CTER OnLine program: |
The support I felt from fellow CTER-ites was great. I have been in Masters classes before where I didn't even know one other person's name in the class all semester. In this class I feel I know each person's name, and I feel each person's thoughts had a chance to be 'heard' online. In a traditional class setting, I tend to (eh-hem) dominate conversation. I didn't feel like I alienated the introverts this time around! |
