How to tell if you're using the latest version of Real Player (Windows)


Some users have reported difficulty viewing the high-bandwidth versions of our video files, despite having a fast network connection. This can be due to having an outdated version of RealPlayer. Here's how to tell if your computer is using the required G2-compatible version:

1. The window to display the first video should look like this:



Note especially the area near the bottom of the screen listing the streaming speed (300.3).

 

2. The window to display the second and subsequent videos should look like this:



Note the area near the bottom of the screen listing the streaming speed (150.1) and indicating that the player and file are in G2 format.

 

3. Under the "Help" pulldown menu, select "About RealPlayer." The latest version shows this information:



Note that if your version is older than Version 6.x.x, you will need to update your RealPlayer. Click "Check for Update..." to do this, or follow this link.
