had ever seen and asked if they could use it as an example

Course
Description
The
primary purpose of the course is to teach graduate students
how to plan, conduct, and evaluate evaluations of learning
technologies. Students will learn to conduct a variety
of evaluations related to learning technologies including
needs assessments, consumer-driven evaluations outcome
or impact assessments, comparative or quasi-experimental
studies and case studies. As one means of measuring need,
growth or impact, students in the course will also learn
to create assessment instruments and strategies related
to learning technologies. These might include electronic
portfolios, web-based surveys, and focus groups, computer
adapted tests, or performance rubrics. Issues in electronic
reporting and metaevaluation will also be covered.

Each week you will participate
in discussions in WebBoard Office
hours will consist of weekly synchronous Internet/Real Audio
chats. The purpose of the chat sessions is to have somewhat
more lively interactions, where we can talk about issues related
to your on-going research projects. These chat sessions are
optional to supplement specific group needs and issues.
The frequency of these sessions will also be based on need.
This is not for specific technical problems, which are best
addressed to the tech support team.
